Baseball coaches favor St. Norbert as MWC champs

After winning the Midwest Conference Championship last season St. Norbert hopes to repeat for the first time since winning back-to-back championships in 1996 and 1997. The Green Knights were tabbed as the favorites in the North Division while Illinois College was favored in the South Division in the 2013 MWC Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Green Knights picked up four of the five first place votes and finished with 16 points while Ripon collected the other first place vote and is predicted to finish in second with 12 points.

The Blueboys were one of three South Division teams to pick up first place votes as they captured two of them along with 14 points while Grinnell also picked up a pair of first place votes. Knox College earned the other first place vote and was followed by Monmouth College.

The Prairie Fire were voted to finish in third place and the Fighting Scots fourth place in the South Division.
