Douglas Almond is an Associate Professor at Columbia University in the Department of Economics and the School of International and Public Affairs. His research focuses on early childhood health and its impact on later-life outcomes. Almond was a staff economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers and a Fulbright scholar studying the health effects of air polllution in China.
